About Trumpet In Zion Church Of God In Christ

How We Got Started

Trumpet In Zion COGIC is a new ministry in the Howard County area that serves the community by being a resource that gives. Pastored and Founded by Elder Kenneth T. Hunt with his wife First Lady Lillian Hunt, TIZ has created a reputation within the Howard County area to be the church that is always giving. Since the first Sunday of May 2015, TIZ has held Sunday morning worship services for the residents in the area. Starting with no permanent location, TIZ held their service in the Loft Ballroom off Route 1 in Laurel, MD, and then moved down the street to the Buena Vista Ballroom for a short time as well.

After two years in ballrooms, TIZ was blessed to have it's own location in Dayton, Maryland. Within the short time frame that TIZ has been in this community, the church has established partnerships within Howard County to serve those in need. Every year the church has been a blessing to families by providing schools supplies and book bags for children in school from grades pre-k to college. TIZ also provides shoes, boxes of food and meal prep for families in need not just for the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays, but throughout the year. TIZ has a saying “We’re Not a Small Church, We’re a Growing Church”, an some might even say they're "The Church That Keeps On Giving".

This ever expanding church recently acquired a new property on 2735 Greenmount Avenue In Baltimore City, which they will be renting for their 2nd ministry "The Lord's Church" also known as "TLC", and it's not by coincidence that the main function of this new church is to feed the homeless of the community, or give some extra support to struggling families by providing any necessary living essentials they need to live. As the people sit to enjoy a hot meal each week their souls will be encouraged, with a worship service by Pastor & Lady Hunt and a host of TIZ volunteers. The Founders are proud to announce their first community dinner will be on November 26th from 2 pm to 5 pm, and the first service was held on December 1st from 8 am to 9 am #TGBATG "Too God Be All The Glory"!
