Pastor Kenneth T. Hunt

Pastor Kenneth Tyrone Hunt is an anointed God fearing man that has dedicated his life to preaching the gospel. Pastor Hunt, a graduate of the University of Maryland Eastern Shore (UMES) was saved in 1997, sanctified and filled with the Holy Ghost since 1998. He was called to ministry in 1999 and served as a Deacon for 5 years. After 5 years as a deacon, he served as a minister for 6 years. After 11 long years, Elder Kenneth Hunt had been thoroughly trained, tried and proven, and was ordained an Elder in 2009.

In 2014 after being diagnosed with End Stage Renal Disease (Kidney Failure), Pastor Hunt asked the Lord what was it He trying to teach him through this trial. The Lord gave him instructions one afternoon reading Joel 2 and said “Blow ye the trumpet in Zion, and sound an alarm in my holy mountain”. He told him to “gather the people, sanctify the congregation, assemble the elders, gather the children, those that suck the breast, and let the bridegroom go forth of his chamber, and the bride out of her closet.”

Pastor Hunt asked God how he was going to accomplish this in his feeble state. The Lord spoke to him in the 24th verse and said “the floors shall be full of wheat, and the vats shall overflow with wine and oil, and I will restore to you the years that the locust had eaten and the cankerworm and the caterpillar and the palmerworm, my great army which I sent among you.” From that the Lord began to prepare Pastor Hunt to begin a work and called it Trumpet In Zion. God told him to go to Laurel, Maryland and the blow the trumpet.

After the Lord blessed Pastor Hunt with a successful kidney transplant on January 22, 2015, he immediately began to move forward with the plan God had given him. On March 4th, Pastor Hunt held the first bible study on the Ft. Meade military base in the bowling alley. Acquiring a temporary location in Laurel, Maryland on May 3rd, 2015 the first Sunday Morning Worship service of Trumpet In Zion COGIC (TIZ) was held and two souls joined the ministry that day. Since then TIZ has multiplied greatly and continues to grow with the motto “We’re not a Small church, We’re a Growing church”.

TIZ is currently located in Dayton, Maryland and has been blessed with the opportunity to purchase and build on the land in the future. TIZ takes pride in being a no judgement zone church with freedom to worship open to all generations. TIZ has become a house of prayer and deliverance with souls consistently joining creating a “Great Army” to go out and witness to the lost. With the membership growing continuously as mothers and fathers attend with their children, as well as singles male and female coming and seeking God, older and younger, TIZ has developed ministries to cater to all individuals guiding them in this walk of salvation in and outside of the church walls.

Pastor Kenneth Hunt is a devoted husband to Lillian M. Hunt with four (4) children Zion Noble, Kennedi JoAnne, Kendrick Tyrone and Katelynn Olivia who all help and support within the ministry. He is the son of Superintendent Henry & Mother Doris Hunt with one sister Katina J. Hunt. Pastor Hunt with the support of his wife has dedicated their lives to being soul seekers for the kingdom. They have adopted the saying “Die Running”. As long as God provides them with breath, they are determined to snatch as many souls out of the pit of hell as possible. Their desire is to encourage others, and prepare as many souls to be rapture ready living forever with Christ, and ultimately “Die Running”.

First Lady Lillian Hunt

Evangelist Lillian Hunt is an anointed God fearing woman who has dedicated her life to preaching the gospel. As a young woman, she was one who hated church and everything she felt it stood for. Witnessing hypocrisy and lies caused her to run from the church, but God’s pure love pulled her back. Sis Hunt was Saved in 1999 at her childhood church Redeem-Bethel COGIC in Upstate New York. After God directed her to move to Baltimore, Maryland in 2001 she was Sanctified and Filled with the Holy Ghost in 2003 at Mt Hebron Memorial COGIC and called into ministry. Four (4) years after being Filled and Called, she was prayed over accepting her task becoming a Sunday school teacher. A year later she became an Aspiring Missionary and completed the classes for missionary licensing. After serving for over 13 years Sister Hunt finally received her Deaconess Missionary license in 2016. Sister Lillian Hunt had been thoroughly trained, tried and proven and received her Evangelist Missionary license in May 2017.

As a faithful member of Mt Hebron, Sister Hunt served and worked as a Sunday school teacher, deacons wives member, Hospitality member, Purity Class President, Praise and Worship member, Choir member, Food Pantry leader, Unity In the Community Leader, church financial secretary, youth worker, missionary board, and in any other capacity the church needed. She demonstrated her loyalty and commitment to her church through her time, finances, and resources. She displayed her spiritual growth by remaining planted in that one church until God spoke, initiated and confirmed her next assignment.

In 2015 she became the First Lady of Trumpet In Zion COGIC where she continues to work diligently. Hand in hand with the Pastor, they both have dedicated their lives to be soul seekers for the kingdom. After God has spared both of their lives so many times, they’ve adopted the saying “Die Running”.

Evangelist Lillian Hunt is a devoted wife to Pastor Kenneth T. Hunt with four (4) children Zion Noble, Kennedi JoAnne, Kendrick Tyrone and Katelynn Olivia who all help and support within the ministry. She takes pride in being the daughter of Mother Irene Nowlin who is her mentor and hero. She is the biological sister to three (3) siblings, two (2) sisters and one (1) brother.

She is the author of “The Covering”, the tell all true life story that encourages the reader to never dwell on their past seasons, as they find their way to embrace the Covering! She is currently releasing her next book which is part two of The Covering as well as a series of children’s books. She is a gifted singer, songwriter and true worshiper.

Sister Hunt hosts “The Weekend At The Mansion With My Sisters” (aka WAM) Event, where women from all across the country come together and are pampered and afforded the opportunity to be honored, rest, relax, relate and release in the company of likeminded peaceful sisterhood. What started as a book club get together slumber party, has turned into a yearly phenomenon. She takes supporting and encouraging women of all ages very seriously and does all she can to pour into whomever will receive.

She is a graduate of the State University of New York College at Brockport where she received her Bachelor Degree in Business Communications after receiving an Associates Degree in Communications/Media Arts.

Sis Hunt will not give up, will not let up and will not allow anything to stop her from snatching as many souls out of the pit of hell as possible as long as God keeps breath her body. Her desire is to prepare as many souls to live forever with Christ as possible and ultimately “Die Running”, and be “Rapture Ready”.
